چکیده
Therapeutic angiogenesis has emerged as a promising strategy to treat various acute and chronic vascular diseases, and to enhance tissue repair and regeneration. 1 Common revascularization therapies include the administration of angiogenic factors, such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). 2 The success of these therapies greatly relies on the ability to control the spatial organization of mature and functional neovessels at physiologically relevant micrometer scales; however, there is a lack of biomedical devices that control the directional growth and spacing of blood vessels. 3 The objective of this study was to develop an angiogenic patch that releases angiogenic growth factors and ultimately regulates the directional growth of mature and functional blood vessels. Angiogenic Factor with G-patch and FHA Domain 1 (AGGF1) Expression in Human Vascular Lesions
Angiogenic factor with G-patch and FHA domain 1 (AGGF1) is a novel angiogenic factor that was first described in Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, a congenital vascular disease associated with capillary and venous malformations. AGGF1, similar to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), has been shown to promote strong angiogenesis in chick embryos in vivo. Blocking AGGF1 expression prevented vesse...
متن کاملModelling Tumor-induced Angiogenesis: Combination of Stochastic Sprout Spacing and Sprout Progression
Background: Angiogenesis initiated by cancerous cells is the process by which new blood vessels are formed to enhance oxygenation and growth of tumor. Objective: In this paper, we present a new multiscale mathematical model for the formation of a vascular network in tumor angiogenesis process. Methods: Our model couples an improved sprout spacing model as a stochastic mathematical model of spro...
متن کاملAngiogenic Effects of Collagen/Mesoporous Nanoparticle Composite Scaffold Delivering VEGF165
Vascularization is a key issue for the success of tissue engineering to repair damaged tissue. In this study, we report a composite scaffold delivering angiogenic factor for this purpose. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) was loaded on mesoporous silica nanoparticle (MSN), which was then incorporated within a type I collagen sponge, to produce collagen/MSN/VEGF (CMV) scaffold. The CMV c...
متن کاملFormation of Microvascular Networks: Role of Stromal Interactions Directing Angiogenic Growth
In the adult, angiogenesis leads to an expanded microvascular network as new vessel segments are added to an existing microcirculation. Necessarily, growing neovessels must navigate through tissue stroma as they locate and grow toward other vessel elements. We have a growing body of evidence demonstrating that angiogenic neovessels reciprocally interact with the interstitial matrix of the strom...
متن کاملCircularly Polarized S Band Dual Frequency Square Patch Antenna Using Glass Microfiber Reinforced PTFE Composite
Circularly polarized (CP) dual frequency cross-shaped slotted patch antenna on 1.575 mm thick glass microfiber reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) composite material substrate is designed and fabricated for satellite applications. Asymmetric cross-shaped slots are embedded in the middle of the square patch for CP radiation and four hexagonal slots are etched on the four sides of the squar...
